JohnCompanies was founded by John K in 2001 to fill a vital need for low-cost professional-grade virtual private servers (VPS). John's founding philosophy was to offer an economical service based on enterprise level hardware and multi-homed bandwidth combined with personal customer and tech support that allows customers to deal directly and immediately with the first-tier engineers who run the actual systems. That philosophy is still valid today. Our belief is that competent and knowledgeable support is the backbone of a world-class professional hosting service. Following the launch of VPS cloud hosting, JCI expanded and began offering dedicated servers and now web hosting, email and domian registration. In all our product offerings we apply the same policy of using enterprise grade hardware and multi-homed bandwidth combined with top-level technical support.

In 2006, John saw a need for easy-to-implement secure online backup services for businesses and individuals who needed reliable off-site secure storage for critical data and files. This back-up service - www.rsync.net - is a sister company to JCI and offers secure geo-redundant backup services at data centers located in the US and around the world.

To support our growth we opened a second and third datacenter in southern California and a backup data center in Las Vegas as the demand for hosting and cloud computing expands dramatically.
