Following the closing of asset and customer transfer agreements, JCI is now the hosting service for all LAMP Host, NetHere, Simplyweb and Znet customers.

Services transferred included cloud servers, dedicated servers, web site hosting, email, SSL certificates and domain registration. Internet access accounts at NetHere for dail up and DSL were NOT part of the transfer agreement and remained with NetHere Inc.

Web site and email hosting services (including webmail) were transferred by acquiring the physical servers and other assets of LAMP Host and NetHere. For most customers the transfer did not affect IP addresses, log-in credentials, or other aspects of customer access. Web hosting and email services have been migrated to up-to-date and secure host servers.

Over the next few months JCI and transferred customers will be merged into a new billing system with a secure customer access portal. Customers will be notified in advance of their account transfer and provided with details of the new portal including log in and features.

JCI will provide all JCI customers including LAMP Host and NetHere customers with the full support of JCI's professional and knowledgeable technical and customer-care support staff. JohnCompanies Inc (JCI) announced that it is implementing a new customer web based portal with a new look and features for account status, ordering, payment reminders, credit card updates, receipts, and more.

JCI will be rolling out this new customer portal in 2023.

JCI now offers FreeBSD 12 and Ubuntu 22.04 for both virtual and dedicated servers. FreeBSD 12 and Ubuntu 22.04 provide increased security and other enhancements over previous versions. Both unmanaged servers with root access and managed servers are avaialable including Word Press hosts. FreeBSD 13 is currently in test and evaluation and will be avaialbe for install in early 2023. With FreeBSD 12 and later versions you will be running a true virtual server and not the more limited "jail" VPS as in previous FreeBSD implementations.

JCI announces the availability of both managed and unmanged cloud servers hosted on a cluster of enterpirse level hardware nodes. Each cloud server is duplicated across the cluster nodes so that if the primary node hosting your cloud server goes offline,the secondary node will restart your server immediately.

In addition to supporting cloud server redundancy, all node servers in each cluster use RAID protected HHDs or SSDs so that one or more drive failures will not take down the associated node. Node servers also have redundant power supplies and are powered from battery backup UPS and diesel generators.

Cloud servers are true private servers with one or more dedicated IP addresses. The customer can install as many applications, domains, web sites, email addresses, etc., as the server resources will support. And cloud servers can be upgraded at any time to scale up cpu, memory, storage and bandwidth resources.

JCI announces the opening of a third data center in southern California. This new datacenter will greatly expand our dedicated server hosting capability and will include all the security features, multi-homed bandwidth, UPS backup power, on-site tech support and Cisco network infrastructure as our other datacenters. All datacenters have successfully completed SAS 16 type II audits.

This new data center will allow for growth and expansion of our hosting business and at the same time will permit customers to split resources and locate backup servers at geographically separate facilities operating on different power feeds and using separate backbone service connections.
